Rogers man dies in Columbiana County crash

COLUMBIANA — Frederick L. Clair II, 40, of Rogers was killed during a two-vehicle crash on state Route 558 at Fairfield School Road around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon post.

Clair, driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, was traveling southbound on Fairfield School Road in Fairfield Township and failed to yield from the stop sign at state Route 558, the patrol said. His pickup struck a 2005 Ford driven eastbound on state Route 558 by Joshua R. Workman, 22, of East Palestine.

Workman’s vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Clair’s vehicle also went off the right side of the road and struck several trees.

Clair was not wearing a seat belt. Workman, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment. The crash remains under investigation.
