The gardens offer classes to help people prepare their homes for the holidays. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens at (330) 740-7116 to register. The details:

Holiday Garland, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday or from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday. The 6-foot evergreen garland of noble fir, salal, incense cedar and pine may be gracefully draped across a fireplace or centered on a table. The instructor will help participants design the holiday decoration for their homes. Fee is $25 for residents and $32 for nonresidents.

Floral Design Basics: Centerpiece with Hurricane Shade, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 16 or from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 17. Create a festive holiday centerpiece with the guidance of an instructor. Fresh, long-lasting flowers, holiday greens and pomegranates will encircle a hurricane lamp. Optional accents of gold or burgundy may be added. The fee is $28 for residents and $35 for nonresidents.

Breakfast Botany: Holly, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Dec. 19. Participants will start their morning with a brisk walk through the gardens and return to the gardens cafe to enjoy a light breakfast and learn about deciduous holly. The fee is $6 for residents and $8 for nonresidents.
