nba roundup Wednesday’s other games

Trail Blazers 98, Wizards 92

WASHINGTON — Brandon Roy took over down the stretch Wednesday night, scoring 12 of his 22 points in the final 8 minutes to help Portland extend its winning streak to six games. The well-balanced Blazers put five players in double-figures: Roy, Greg Oden, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Fernandez and Steve Blake. Oden, the rookie center who missed all of last season, finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double in the past 12 games. Antawn Jamison scored 22 points and Caron Butler added 16 for the Wizards, who fell to an Eastern Conference-worst 3-13. Washington was coming off a 20-point victory at the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday night, but still is seeking its first winning streak of the season.

Lakers 114, 76ers 102

PHILADELPHIA — Kobe Bryant tormented his hometown team again, scoring 32 points to help the Lakers rebound from a last-second loss. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said before the game that the thrill of playing in his home city has worn off for Bryant. But the reigning MVP appeared to enjoy every big 3-pointer that pushed back the Sixers and gave Los Angeles a boost. The Lakers improved to 15-2 one night after they lost in Indiana on a late tip.

Bobcats 103, Thunder 97

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Emeka Okafor had 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead a balanced attack for the Bobcats. Gerald Wallace added 21 points and Jason Richardson scored 18 to surpass 10,000 points in his career for the Bobcats, who won consecutive games under coach Larry Brown for the first time. The Thunder were playing their first game since snapping a franchise record-tying 14-game losing streak Saturday at Memphis. Kevin Durant scored 24 points and Jeff Green added 18, but Oklahoma City couldn’t overcome 19 turnovers and dropped to 2-17.

Hawks 105, Grizzlies 95

ATLANTA — Joe Johnson scored 26 points, and Mike Bibby had 20 points and 10 assists in the Hawks’ victory. The Hawks, who have won three of four and five of seven, welcomed back Josh Smith after their $58 million forward missed the past 12 games with an ankle sprain. In 28 minutes, Smith had 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, four turnovers and one blocked shot. Rudy Gay finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds as Memphis dropped its season-worst seventh straight.

Magic 100, Timberwolves 89

ORLANDO, Fla. — Dwight Howard had 23 points and 14 rebounds, and Rashard Lewis also scored 23 points to lead the Magic. Hedo Turkoglu added 22 for the Magic, who have won two of three despite missing their top three guards with injuries. Al Jefferson had 19 to lead the Timberwolves.

Celtics 114, Pacers 96

BOSTON — Rajon Rondo notched his first career triple-double and Ray Allen scored 31 points, leading the Celtics over the Pacers.
