Canfield 56, Struthers 53

STRUTHERS — Kalie Luklan scored 25 points to lead Canfield, which pulled away from a 39-39 tie after three quarters. Jillian Halfhill added 13 points for the Cardinals (1-1), who had a 21-14 goal advantage. Struthers (1-1) made a game of it despite shooting 14-for-31 at the foul line. Dana Mathews tallied a game-high 28 points to lead the Wildcats, while Helen-Marie Hird tacked on 13.

Salem 41, Beaver Local 29

SALEM — Amy Scullion had 19 points and Brittany Ritchie 12 for the Quakers. Scullion also had 13 of her team’s 23 rebounds. Sam Cianni’s seven points paced Beaver Local. Kayla Mackall had eight of Beaver Local’s 23 rebounds.

Hubbard 69, Niles 19

HUBBARD — Cara Julian had 19 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Eagles rolled over the Red Dragons. Hubbard jumped out to a 26-5 lead after one quarter, then pushed the gap to 45-12 at halftime. Hubbard made only 4 of 6 free throws to 3 of 6 by Niles, but the Eagles made 9 of their 28 goals from 3-point range. Michele Starkey and Paige Seech each added 10 points for the winners. Katie Hitchings had six points for the Red Dragons.

Crestview 66, Newton Falls 62

NEWTON FALLS — Crestview had four strong, consistent quarters en route to victory. Chelsea Bowker had 19 points, Marissa Newbauer 14 and Shanelle Dayner 13 for Crestview (2-1). For Newton Falls (1-1), senior Kelsey McGregor had 17 points while sophomore Destiny Prusky added 16.

West Branch 57, Southeast 38

RAVENNA — Emilee Zets scored 12 points to lead West Branch (1-0). Katie Sellaroli and Emily Rekolt each added nine for the Warriors, who outscored the Pirates 16-4 in the fourth quarter to pull away. Mya Levels had 30 points and 15 rebounds for Southeast (0-2).
