Free gun locks available at New Middletown Police Department

NEW MIDDLETOWN — The New Middletown Police Department is offering free gun locks to adults as a way to promote gun safety during the hunting and holiday seasons.

The locks can be used for all types of firearms and come with a safety manual.

Gun locks may be picked up at the municipal building on Main Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The program is a joint effort between the police department and Project Childsafe, a nationwide program to help ensure responsible firearm ownership and storage.
