Thomas More 75, Bethany 61

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — Dakota Matz led the Bison by setting a new career-high with 16 points, while Joe Testa was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor to finish with 14 markers. Pacing Thomas More was Daniel McKeehan with 24 points, 11 rebounds and four assists and Romell Salone, who came off the bench to total 16 points. Thomas More rallied from a 40-29 halftime deficit, holding the Bison to 29 percent shooting in the second half. While the Saints (4-1, 1-0 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) shot much better in the second half as compared to the Bison (52 percent to 29), the other key to the turnaround was on the glass. Thomas More posted a 25-11 rebounding advantage in the final 20 minutes, which included eight offensive caroms that led to 13 second chance points. Bethany is 4-3, 0-1.

WOMEN

Saint Vincent 61, Westminster 55

LATROBE, Pa. — Westminster junior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald) posted a double-double for a second straight game as she tied a career high with 19 points while pulling down 10 rebounds to lead the Titans (2-3), who led by one at haltime. Senior guard Gina Brunetti (Cardinal Mooney) scored in double figures for a third straight game with 16 points. The Titans (2-3) committed 30 turnovers (19 in the first half) compared to 16 by the Bearcats (5-0), who used a 16-4 run early in the second half to secure the win. Janelle Reed led Saint Vincent with 19 points while Chelsea Young bucketed nine points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Thomas More 86, Bethany 59

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — Tamara Blankenship led the Bison by going 6-for-6 from the foul line on her way to a career-high 11 points in the PAC opener for both teams. Kelly Goode was the only other Bethany player in double digits with 10, while senior Caelyn DiSanti posted team-highs with of four rebounds and three assists. Jayme Thiem, last year’s PAC Player of the Year, Thiem spearheaded the Saints attack with 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Dickman notched 13 markers and matched Thiem with eight boards. The Bison (1-5, 0-1) were forced to come back from the outset, as the Saints (6-0, 1-0) used two 3-pointers from Gabby Johnson to race out to a 12-2 lead. A triple and two foul shots by BC freshman Tamara Blankenship (Clarksburg, Pa./Saltsburg) helped trim the deficit to 14-9, but TMC used another 12-2 spurt later in the half to take their biggest lead at 37-22 at the 1:40 mark.

Hiram 68, Allegheny 62

HIRAM — Hiram (2-2, 1-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) had four players score in double figures led by Caitlyn Ruese with a game-high 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and six assists. Junior guard Brittany Mayle, Jess Cowan and Karris Kandel each added 10 points. Allegheny (3-3, 0-1) was led by Emilie Simone and Jill Gregory with 15 points each. Simone shot 5-of-14 from the field (35.7 percent) and grabbed six rebounds. Gregory shot 7-of-10 from the floor and tallied a game-tying high eight rebounds. Stephanie Wolf was the only other Gator player in double figures with 13 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.
