SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Ryan Ayers was 9-of-14 from 3-point range for a career-high 35 points and Kyle McAlarney was 7-of-13 on 3 for 27 points to lead Notre Dame. Ayers tied a Joyce Center record with the nine 3s, while McAlarney just missed a third straight 30-point game. The Irish (6-1) were 19-of-37 from 3-point range.

No. 17 Villanova 69, Penn 47

PHILADELPHIA — Dante Cunningham had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Corey Stokes scored 14 points for Villanova. The Wildcats (7-0) have won every game by at least 13 points against teams that won’t come close to cracking the Top 25. Harrison Gaines led Penn with 14 points.

No. 18 Memphis 100, Marist 61

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shawn Taggart had 21 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks and freshman Tyreke Evans added 24 points as Memphis dominated every phase of the game. Antonio Anderson scored 12 points and Roburt Sallie finished with 11 for Memphis (5-1). Evans was 10-of-13 from the field.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Nick Calathes had 16 points, five rebounds and seven assists and Chandler Parsons added 15 points for Florida. The Gators (6-1) improved to 10-0 all time against the Rattlers, to 18-0 against teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and to 20-2 in December over the last three years. Lamar Twitty led FAMU with 20 points and six rebounds.

MILWAUKEE — Wesley Matthews scored 18 points as Marquette bounced back from its first loss with an aggressive defensive performance. Dominic James scored 15 points and Lazar Hayward added 14 for Marquette.

No. 7 Tennessee 71, George Washington 59

WASHINGTON — Glory Johnson scored 16 points and Tennessee compensated for a poor-shooting, turnover-filled night by dominating the glass. The Lady Vols (6-1) shot only 35 percent and committed 19 turnovers, but they outrebounded the Colonials 51-35.

YPSILANTI, Mich. — Freshman guard Natalie Novosel scored a career-best 18 points off the bench and Lindsay Schrader added 17 points and 10 rebounds to help Notre Dame stay unbeaten. Melissa Lechlitner added 15 points for the Irish.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jessica Mooney scored 16 points and fellow reserve Chanel Chisolm added 13 for Vanderbilt. Hannah Tuomi was the only Commodores starter in double figures. She had 10 points and six rebounds.

No. 23 Xavier 67, Kentucky 44

CINCINNATI — Jerri Taylor scored a season-high 18 points to lead Xavier (6-2), which has won six of its seven games against the Wildcats (4-2).
