A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:

Nov. 27

Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 43, was taken into custody in Austintown and charged after his wife, of Beech Avenue, alleged he threw her to the ground and slapped her several times.

Theft: A 28-year-old Canfield woman was accused in the theft of two bottles of cologne from Sears in the Southern Park Mall, and charged.

Theft: A $62 necktie was stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall, resulting in a theft count against a 16-year-old Youngstown boy.

Bad check: A Columbiana man told police a tenant at a Glendale Avenue apartment wrote a $900 check for rent that was drawn on a closed account.

Arrest: A Boardman man, 33, faced charges of aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct after a worker with a Boardman-Canfield Road eatery told police the man threatened to kill her if she refused to date him. The man also disrupted other employees and customers, the report said.

Theft: A pair of tennis shoes was stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Poland man discovered an electric guitar and accessories missing from his car while at a Doral Drive store.

Fraud: A Lemont Drive woman told officers she sent to someone in Brooklyn, N.Y., a $2,486 money-gram to buy a camper online, but never received a reply.

Criminal damaging: Someone used a key to damage the finish to a Struthers woman’s vehicle at the Southern Park Mall.

Identity theft: A Loretta Drive man found out someone had placed 45 calls using his identity after having received a $135 collection notice.

Theft: Police accused a 17-year-old Youngstown boy of concealing two MP3 players at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft/weapon: A Youngstown woman, 40, and a Poland man, 45, were charged after $33.55 worth of merchandise was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. The man also faced a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon when, police said, he had an unloaded handgun in a medicine bag.

Nov. 28

Criminal damaging: A Spring Garden Court man’s mailbox sustained damage.

Assault: A Youngstown man alleged an employee of a South Avenue business pushed him and reached for a knife during an argument about wages.

Burglary: Someone pried open a sliding-glass door to an apartment in the 70 block of Lemans Drive before removing a computer and monitor, two TVs, an Xbox game system and 20 Xbox games.

Robbery: A 33-year-old Youngstown man faced charges of robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities got a report of someone concealing 10 steaks at Cochran’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave. The man struggled with store security personnel who tried to detain him. He also had in his possession a suspected crack pipe, the report showed.

Theft: A woman’s purse was taken from a shopping cart while she was at a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Nov. 29

Theft: A Struthers man, 20, was picked up on a felony theft charge as well as a misdemeanor count of misuse of a credit card after another man reported having lost his credit card at a Doral Drive store. The card was used at various township locations without the owner’s consent, the report said.

Damage: A Forest Ridge Drive woman saw that two inflatable decorations in her yard had been knocked over.

Theft: A Pierce Drive man reported the theft of two firearms from his home.

Criminal damaging: A Tracy Drive man reported damage to an inflatable snowman and snow globe in his front yard.

Domestic violence: A 65-year-old Boardman man was taken into custody at his residence and charged with domestic violence (threats) after police responded to a report of a stolen gun. A family member alleged the man threatened to harm her during an argument about the firearm, the report said.

Theft: A man reported a missing gas unit and radar detector from his residence in the 1300 block of Huntington Court.

Nov. 30

Theft: A 20-year-old New Castle, Pa., man was charged, accused in the theft of $50 worth of items from TJ Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 21, was arrested on a warrant charging him. The man’s former girlfriend alleged that he kicked and punched her, tried to choke her and threw the accuser into a wall when she asked him to leave her residence.

Theft: A 36-year-old Meadville, Pa., man surrendered to police on a felony charge after an October situation in which three bank deposit bags belonging to Papa John’s Pizza, 1307 Boardman-Poland Road, were never deposited.

Assault: An Aravesta Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend punched her several times in the head and leg. She complained of pain and had bruises to the affected area.

Theft: A Youngstown man reported the theft of a $14 bottle of alcohol from his vehicle while at a Doral Drive business.

Theft: A South Avenue woman told police that her purse, a compact-disc player and an MP3 player were missing from her vehicle.

Drugs: A traffic stop in the 3900 block of Euclid Boulevard led to two arrests. A township man, 27, faced a felony charge of drug abuse; a Columbus man, also 27, was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Drugs: Officers investigated two suspicious men trying to enter a West Boulevard building and later arrested a 20-year-old Boardman man after pulling him over. He was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia when, authorities said, suspected marijuana debris and a suspected marijuana pipe were found.

Dec. 1

Possible attempted fraud: A township man who’s a family member’s power of attorney said a caseworker tried several times to have him removed from the position in an improper manner.

Identity theft: A Boardman man, no age given, faced charges of identity theft, forgery and criminal simulation when, officers said, he used fraudulent documents to try to obtain a driver’s license at the Boardman License Bureau, 229 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy was charged in the theft of a $123 cell phone from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A Struthers woman, 52, faced charges of theft, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drugs after being accused of stealing $155 worth of merchandise from Sears. A pocketknife and pills were in her purse, authorities said.

Theft: About $50 was taken from the purse of a Southern Park Mall store employee.

Theft: Someone took a $100 inflatable Santa Claus decoration from LS Baskets and Gifts, 7337 California Ave.

Theft: A tobacco product was stolen from Cigarette World, 110 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: A 20-year-old Boardman man was charged after a family member reported having been pushed down, causing her to strike her head against a toilet, during an argument. The man also choked her and tossed objects at her, the accuser told police.
