New hospital

The Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley is having a series of open house events and tours this week at its Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St., Boardman, before it begins accepting patients Monday.

Today: By invitation only, tours for government and business officials, hospital board and foundation members, and donors, 5 to 8 p.m.

Thursday: By invitation only, area physicians and their office staff members.

Saturday: Hospital employees and their families.

Sunday: Open house from 1 to 4 p.m. for the general public.

Monday: Ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.
