Precision LLC acquires Haz-Safe building line

AUSTINTOWN — Precision LLC, which has a plant in Austintown, has acquired the Haz-Safe modular building product line from CID Associates.

The local plant is being used to produce Haz-Safe products.

The 30,000-square-foot plant employs 40 hourly and salaried workers.

Precision is a metals fabricator that is based in Sisterville, W.Va. CID Associates is based in Sarver, Pa.

Haz-Safe bulidings are used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, automotive and defense industries because they meet safety and environmental regulations that cover the manufacturing and storage of hazardous materials.

Regional Chamber supports study of revenue sharing

YOUNGSTOWN — The board of directors of the Regional Chamber has voted unanimously to support a revenue-sharing study proposed by the Northeast Ohio Mayors and City Managers Association.

The group is proposing that communities in the 16 counties in Northeast Ohio share revenues that come from economic development.

The goal is to encourage communities to cooperate in economic development, instead of competing with one another.

The association is planning to complete its study next year. Information is available at www.revenuestudy.org.
