Summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Nov. 21

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested a 17-year-old male student from Youngstown at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, on charges of being a delinquent child by way of disorderly conduct and failure to comply. He had been caught fighting and resisting being arrested and then was physically resistant as police tried to get him to the police cruiser. He was released to his mother.

Drug abuse/paraphernalia: Police arrested a 22-year-old New Middletown man on Broad Street on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after they found a black and silver metal pipe with suspected marijuana residue in it and suspected marijuana in his possession.

Nov. 23

Underage consumption: Police arrested a 20-year-old Boardman man and a 20-year-old Boardman woman in the parking lot of Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., for underage consumption of alcohol. The pair got out of their vehicle and started shoving each other.

Drug abuse/paraphernalia: Police arrested a 21-year-old Deerfield, Ohio, man on East Main Street on charges of drug abuse, possession and drug paraphernalia. Police found a plastic bag containing 3 grams of suspected marijuana in a glass pipe with suspected marijuana residue, two packs of rolling papers and a roller.

Bad checks: IGA, 8 N. Broad St., reported receiving three checks written on a closed account.

Nov. 24

Theft: A television was stolen at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: A laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle at parked a home in the 4000 block of Nottingham Drive.

Burglary: Jewelry was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Stark Drive.

Aggravated trespassing: A victim was assaulted at a home in the 3000 block of Johnson Farm Drive.

Criminal damaging: A house was struck by gunfire in the 4000 block of Crum Road.

Nov. 25

Theft: Six township street signs were stolen and two were damaged.

Menacing: Threatening phone calls were made at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Mail tampering: Prescription pills were ordered through the mail and opened and thrown on the floor at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Theft: A purse and its contents were stolen at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $20 in fuel was taken at Unimart, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A purse was taken from the trunk of a car at the Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Blvd.

Nov. 26

Assault: A bartender was struck in the face by a male suspect at Billy’s, 40 S. Meridian Road.

Burglary: A television and an Xbox were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of West Hampton Road.

Theft: $23.27 in gasoline was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Recovered property: A red change purse and its contents were recovered at Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Entry was gained through a west window at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was scratched in a carport in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: Signs were stolen from a yard in the 2000 block of Elm Trace Street.

Burglary: Several items were taken from an apartment in the 1000 block of Laurie Drive.

Theft: A woman was arrested in a theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Three females stole a box of candy, gum and beverages at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Nov. 27

Criminal damaging: Vehicle tires were slashed at a home in the 5000 block of Baker Street.

Menacing: A woman is accused of menacing at a home in the 4000 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Auto theft: A 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass was stolen from a home in 400 block of North Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: Vehicle tires were punctured at a home in the 5000 block of Baker Street.

Criminal damaging: Siding on a house was damaged by a paint ball gun at a home in the 3000 block of Black Oak Lane.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was broken in the parking lot in the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: A shed was entered but nothing was reported missing at a home in the 200 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Fraud: A fraudulent check was sent in the mail to purchase an item from the victim at a home in the 3000 block of South Turner Road.

Burglary: Entry was gained through a basement window at a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A man was accused of menacing at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Nov. 29

Drug offense: Police charged a Lowellville man with possession of suspected cocaine, oxycodone and drug paraphernalia at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: An Austintown woman was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, syringes and suspected heroin at a home in the 70 block of South Roanoke Avenue.

Burglary: Tires and rims were taken from a vehicle at a home in the 3000 block of Huntmere Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A wall was damaged by spray paint at The Meating Place, 9282 New Road.

Criminal damaging: Paint damage was caused by a sharp object on a vehicle in the driveway of a home in the 4000 block of Barrington Drive.

Criminal damaging: Vinyl siding on a home was spray-painted in the 100 block of North Main Street.

Nov. 30

Drug offense: An Austintown man was arrested for possession of suspected marijuana at a home in the 5000 block of New Road.

Theft: A wallet with cash, an Ohio license and credit cards was stolen from Briarfield Manor, 461 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Three suspects were arrested on theft charges at Wal-Mart.

Fleeing and eluding: A man is accused of fleeing police on an all-terrain vehicle at North Turner Road and Elmwood Avenue.
