Park board seeks commissioner

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Probate Court is accepting applications for the position of commissioner of the Mill Creek Metropolitan Park District Board.
The commissioner’s position is a three-year term beginning Jan. 1. There are three commissioners who sit on the Mill Creek Metropolitan Park District Board.
The probate court is the appointing authority to the park board.
A park board commissioner takes an oath to perform the duties of the office and shall provide a bond in the sum of $5,000. The bond is approved by and filed with the county auditor.
Commissioners serve without compensation, but they shall be allowed their actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties, said Probate Court Judge Mark Belinky.
Completed applications must be postmarked or received by the probate court no later than Dec. 19.
