57 Hubbard Twp. homes remain without power
HUBBARD — Ohio Edison reported that 57 Hubbard Township homes are still without power after an early-morning outage caused by a damaged utility pole.
Though it was reported by the Trumbull County 911 services that the outage to more than 100 homes shortly after 1:15 a.m. today was caused by a car accident on Youngstown-Hubbard Road, Todd Coonce, the township’s police chief, said Ohio Edison officials blamed a fallen pole that had rotted at its base.
Luann Haddad, Ohio Edison’s Trumbull County manager, would not confirm the cause of the two fallen poles between Broadway Street and Bell Wick Road on Youngstown-Hubbard Road, but said details would be made available when the repairs were complete.
She said the 57 remaining homes should be reconnected by 3 p.m. today when the replacement of the downed poles, wires, and the two connected transformers are completed.
Until then, drivers are forced to navigate around construction on the road, beginning at the Broadway Street and Bell Wick Road intersections.
