Martinkos to mark 50th anniversary on trip to Florida

• YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Martinko, 1311 Detroit Ave., will observe their 50th anniversary Saturday, and their three children will give them a return trip to Florida for a second honeymoon at a later date.

Their family includes Joseph and Susan G. Yager of East Liverpool, Deidre and Donald J. Martinko of Great Falls, Mont.; and Nicholas and Sharon L. Bartlone of Kaneoha, Hawaii; and three grandchildren, Jessica Wyrick, and Jacqueline and Justyn Martinko.

The former Georgeann Maruschak and Mr. Martinko were married on Sept. 6, 1958, at St. Matthias Church, where they are members. They are also members of the American Slovak Cultural Association of Mahoning Valley.

Mrs. Martinko retired in 2001 as a school secretary with Youngstown City Schools. She is a member of the Youngstown Retired Teachers Association, Youngstown Retired Secretaries, and the Golden Echoes.

Mr. Martinko is a semiretired, self-employed painter and wallpaper hanger. He is a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Vincent de Paul Society, and he is a U.S. Army veteran.
