Jankowski’s goal lifts Fitch to 1-0 win


The Poland, Ursuline and Warren JFK boys rolled to soccer wins.

AUSTINTOWN — Sophomore Brandon Jankowski scored the lone goal to lead the Fitch High boys soccer team to a 1-0 win over Canton McKinley on Thursday.

Bobby Douglas had four saves for the Falcons (1-2-1, 1-0 Federa League).

Poland 9, East Palestine 1

POLAND — Taylor Malaniak had three goals and an assist, while Matt Mrozek and Ryan Rovnak added two goals and an assist to lead Poland.

Ryan Storkel had a goal and an assist, Leo D’Angelo scored a goal and Scott Riddle and Charles Lamping added assists for Poland (3-0-0). Cooper Kostelic had one save.

Trevor Patterson scored for East Palestine, which was outshot 23-2. Chad Campagna had 14 saves.

Ursuline 8, East Liverpool 0

YOUNGSTOWN — Marshall Finelli had three goals and an assist, John Buckley had two goals and Kevin Patrick had a goal and two assists to lead Ursuline (3-0-2). Benny Naples and Tyler Carroll each added goals, while Manuel Esparra and Cory Coffey each added two assists and Kevin Kablan had one.

Dom Perry had eight saves and Tyler Culp five for East Liverpool (1-3-0), which was outshot 23-0.

Girls

Warren JFK 7, Crestview 1

WARREN — Kelli Guarnieri scored three goals, while Jerrica Cooper had two and three assists and Erin McBride had two goals and two assists. Adrian Ashdown had the other assist for Kennedy (1-2), while Audrey Prokop had four saves and Kelsie Case three.

Emily Corll scored for Crestview (0-4), while Shanea Beiling had 20 saves.

Badger 4, Pymatuning Valley 2

Taylor Phillips had two goals, Amelia Deraway had a goal and two assists and Shawna McNeely had a goal and an assist for Badger. Kayleen Meardith also assisted on a goal, while Kelsey Flowers had 20 saves for Badger (1-2).

April Houser scored both of the Lakers’ goals on assists by Nicole Virostek. Lauren Seman had seven saves for Pymatuning Valley (1-3).

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Allyson Berry had three goals and two assists and Alexis Zubich three goals to lead Springfield (3-0) on Monday.

Amber Uscianowski had one goal and three assists, Hannah Chapella one goal, Jaclyn Tabaka two assists. and Breanne Mincher one assist.

Goalie Heather Cozak had 10 saves.

Crestview is 0-2.

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Allyson Berry had four goals ands one assist and Alexis Zubick two goals and one assist to lead Springfield (4-0) on Wednesday.

Megan Molnar added one goal while Breanne Mincher, Amber Uscianowski, Alex Pizzuto and Ashlyn Italiano contributed one assist each.

Springfield goalie Heather Cozak had two saves.

Liberty is 0-2-2.
