Girard captures five-game win against Poland
Hubbard, Brookfield and Newton Falls all had easy wins in area volleyball action Thursday.
GIRARD — Chelsea Guerrieri had 17 kills, 17 digs, seven points and one block to lead the Girard High volleyball team to a 25-20, 26-24, 12-25, 21-25, 15-11 victory over Poland on Thursday.
Olivia Bucci added 11 kills, 18 points, one ace, four digs and four blocks and McKenzie Patterson had 19 points, six aces and 12 digs for Girard (2-2)
For Poland (1-1), Katie Pompeii had 10 kills, 16 points, six aces and six digs, Leanna Yeager five kills and four blocks and Amanda Molaskey 12 assists, eight points and four aces.

HUBBARD — Junior outside hitter Jackie Carlisle had 11 kills and two blocks; junior middle hitter Lexi Starheim had six kills and three blocks and junior Marcy Angelo had 20 assists, two aces and 17 service points for Hubbard (1-0 ACC).
Salena Swift had three kills for Niles (0-2 ACC).

WARREN — Shannon Miller scored 14 points, while Kelse McGregor added eight kills and Ashley Walker had 13 digs to lead Newton Falls.
Andrea Simsa had six kills and Katie Simmons five digs for the Flashes.

BROOKFIELD — Kelsey Husnick scored 21 points and added 18 digs to pace Brookfield. Marissa Jones added seven kills and two blocks, while Brittany Hiner had 25 assists for the Warriors (2-2).
Nicole Pollo and Lauren Perry had 23 and 14 digs respectively for the Wildcats, while Kaitlyn Opritza finished with nine points.

CORTLAND — Senior outside hitter Abby Bensing had 14 kills, three aces and 14 digs, while junior libero Chelsea Kelligher 23 digs and 18 service points for Lakeview (2-1, 2-2 AAC).
Ashley Venable had 14 kills, 10 service points, six aces and 14 digs for Liberty (0-2).

BELOIT — Northwest posted its fourth straight victory behind Lindsay Green and Dakota Harkins who combined for 26 kills.
