ASSOCIATIONS

• Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet at 11:45 a.m. Sept. 10 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St. Don Hornickle, past president of ORTA, will present a program on member benefits and the importance of belonging to MRTA/ORTA. CLASSES

• Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1950 will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at Bedford Trails.

• Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s on state Route 224. Boardman. Guests are welcome.

CLUBS

• Poland Center Homemakers will meet Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Poland United Methodist Church for a casserole luncheon. Members are reminded to take glue and scissors for a penguin project (kits provided). Hostesses will be Jane Kerr and Jean Layne.

• Ohio Cultural Alliance will open its 22nd season with a dinner meeting Sept. 8 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Campbell. The program will focus on Hispanic culture. The speaker will be Henry Guzman, and music will be by Felipe Gonzalez and his group of musicians. The cost is $13 for each paid up member, and $18 for nonmembers. Those attending are asked to take one can of fruit, vegetable or soup for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Make reservation checks payable to the alliance and mail to OCA, P.O. • Warren Republican Women’s Club will meet at noon Thursday at DiLucia’s Restaurant, Elm Road, Warren. The guest speaker will be David Skolnick, political columnist with The Vindicator. LIBRARY FRIENDS

• Friends of Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 8 for a social in the Library community room. At 10 a.m. Dr. Rene Alley will speak on “The McGuffey Reader.” Guests are welcome, and no reservations are required. Hostesses will be Betty Anzevino, Jane Martin, Mary Alice Mulford, and Jean Puhalla. Items will collected for the book cart from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

• Friends of Poland Library will meet for an annual salad luncheon at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the library meeting room. Judge Theresa Dellick will speak on the Juvenile Justice Center. Members are asked to take salads; beverages and desserts will be provided. Hostesses will be Mary Jane Pavelko, Carol McCoy, Louise Schwartz, and Mary Jackson.
