Ready to welcome Penguins
Ready to welcome Penguins
EDITOR:
On behalf of the entire Buckeye community, we would like to tell YSU’s Penguin fans how excited we are for Aug. 30, the day that will begin both of our football seasons. Both of our schools have deep tradition in football and in winning big games. In a similar way, both our schools have been rooted in one man that at different times has led each team to greatness, not only in football, but as an entire school community.
Following in the great example of Jim Tressel, we would like to welcome you to Columbus for what we hope will be a game that illustrates what opening day of the season should be. As schools on common ground in the state of Ohio, we hope to see many Youngstown State fans and enjoy that first fall game with you. We know from the past that every game we play against Youngstown will be a game of high-quality football, great athleticism and even greater fans. We look forward to seeing you at the Shoe.

What was in the wine?
EDITOR:
It is exhilarating to read the Aug. 21 diatribe of a conservative Republican as he regurgitates the same old party-line ideology over and over. The letter writer from Poland presented the same old illogical rhetoric of a political pit bull. I guess the Thunderbird at the wine-tasting was stronger than he thought.
The question of abortion has never been disputed. Like me, the greatest percentage of Democrats are personally opposed to abortion. They’re just against conservative Republicans constantly trying to restrict the rights of women. Does the writer expect us to believe that there has NEVER been a conservative Republican woman in the history of America who has had an abortion? They want to return America to the days of coat-hanger abortions in back alleys unless their family had enough money to be “sent-away” to a phantom location until the “problem” was resolved.
Second, dealing with terror while ignoring and violating the U.S. Constitution is indeed an impeachable offense. Article 2, Section 4 of that document provides the reasons for impeachment and it would take an entire edition of The Vindicator to enumerate the history of the crimes and misdemeanors committed by this president and his cronies.
A president and party sycophants who think, and practice, that the U.S. Constitution was written to be ignored or violated for whatever reason they deem appropriate is not conducive to being the Big Kahuna on the world stage.
The views espoused by the writer are indicative of conservative ideology which results in the chaos reported in the same edition of The Vindicator such as the Kansas City Star editorial entitled “America’s future at risk” and the article written by the two professors of Harvard and Columbia entitled “Oil-rich Iraq playing Uncle Sam for a fool.”
