Daily lottery for ‘Wicked’ seats during Benedum run

PITTSBURGH — A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of seats will be held daily for “Wicked,” which will be staged from Wednesday to Oct. 5 at the Benedum Center. Each day, 21‚Ñ2 hours before show time, people who present themselves at the Box Office at Theater Square (655 Penn Ave.) will have their names placed in a lottery drum. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person.

Curtain times for the national touring production of the Broadway hit will be 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 9 p.m. Fridays; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturdays; and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sundays. A 1 p.m. matinee will also be presented next Thursday. Tickets are available at The Box Office at Theater Square; by phone at (412) 456-4800; and online at www.pgharts.org.

Former Warren resident to play at guitar event

CLEVELAND — Colin Davin, a former Warren resident, will be a performing guest at Classical Guitar Weekend, Sept. 5-7, at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Now in its ninth season, Classical Guitar Weekend will feature seven internationally acclaimed artists in a series of recitals, master classes and lecture demonstrations. They are Davin, classical guitar; Paul O’Dette, lute (chitarrone) and Ellen Hargis, soprano; Ricardo Gallen, classical guitar; and Cleveland Institute of Music Guitar Department Head Jason Vieaux, solo classical guitar, and in ensemble with Jung Eun Oh, soprano, and Regina Mushabac, cello.

Davin is a 2005 Bay Village High School graduate. He lived in Warren until 1997.

Davin’s recital will be at 8 p.m. Sept. 5, at CIM’s Mixon Hall, 11021 East Boulevard. Admission: $18 ($15 students). Call Guitars International at (216) 752-7502 for reservations or information.

Fall Fest seeks vendors

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Fall Fest, set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 6 at Welker Park, is seeking vendors. The festival will benefit the Springfield Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Welker Park is on Route 170 behind the New Middletown Municipal Building.

Food, craft, antique and yard sale vendors can reserve a table for $20. A 15-foot-square area, which fits up to four tables and a tent or canopy, can be reserved for $25.
