HUBBARD

Aug. 22

Warrants: The Hubbard Mayor’s Court issued warrants for three people all accused of failing to pay their 2005 city income taxes.

Arrest: Officers took custody of a Hubbard man wanted on a warrant from the Girard Municipal Court charging him with theft.

Arrest: Mahoning County authorities picked up a Hubbard woman wanted on charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and receiving stolen property.

Aug. 23

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 100 block of Rebecca Avenue told police three boys broke a statue in her front yard and fled.

Identity theft: An East Liberty Street resident reported having been a victim.

Aug. 24

Theft: Several people in the 300 block of North Main Street reported their vehicles were entered and items stolen.

Criminal damaging: A West Water Street man discovered someone had tossed a brick through his vehicle’s window.

Aug. 25

Attempted theft: Someone tried to break into a vending machine at a car wash on West Liberty Street.

LIBERTY

Aug. 23

Bad check: A Keefer Road woman told police a Bigler, Pa., man bought at her yard sale a fax machine with a check later returned on a closed account.

Arrest: A traffic stop near state routes 193 and 304 resulted in a 40-year-old Youngstown man being charged with a variety of traffic offenses. He also had nine convictions for driving under suspension, police said.

Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 22, was arrested on Marla Lane and charged after a Tuttle Drive woman alleged he struck her in the face, head and upper body during an argument about a family member. The accuser had redness and swelling on her face.

Aggravated menacing: A Louise Lane woman reported receiving a text message in which another woman threatened to shoot and kill the accuser.

Recovered property: A Logan Way man found a $150, 21-speed bicycle hidden in his shrubbery, though it had not been stolen, officers said.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 37, faced charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after several stores in or near the Liberty Plaza reported food, beauty supplies and other merchandise stolen. A suspected crack pipe was in the woman’s purse, authorities said.

Assault: A 16-year-old boy alleged two Girard boys, both 11, jumped him in a wooded area, giving the older boy a bloody nose and several scratches. The 11-year-olds said the older teen challenged them to a fight.

Aug. 24

Burglary/damage: A man discovered someone had entered his home in the 3000 block of North Gate Road and splattered sauce and other condiments on the walls and carpet before removing copper pipes that connected a hot-water heater.

Burglary: A man returned to his Colonial Drive residence to discover a break-in, as well as medications, jewelry and money missing, for a loss of $2,015.

Assault: Police responded to a fight at a Trumbull Avenue restaurant, where a Youngstown man reported having been struck in the right eye. A woman who tried to stop the fight was hit in the mouth, the report showed.

Auto theft: A Colonial Drive woman reported her Dodge vehicle stolen from her residence.

Aug. 25

Drugs: Officers charged a 41-year-old Youngstown man with drug abuse and having no operator’s license after pulling him over near state Route 193 and Interstate 80. Found in his pocket were 2.4 grams of suspected crack cocaine, the report said.

Identity fraud: A Youngstown woman found out someone made five fraudulent charges totaling $191 at a local restaurant with her credit card.

Arrest: After getting a 911 call about someone in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive kicking a resident’s door, officers charged a Youngstown woman, 51, with disorderly conduct. The intoxicated woman continued to yell profanities despite having been advised to cease, police said.

Aug. 26

Drugs: A Warren woman, 44, was arrested on Motor Inn Drive and faced a felony charge of possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor count of obstructing official business when, authorities said, suspected crack cocaine was in her purse, and she provided a false name.

Arrest: A 34-year-old Windham man was taken into custody in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: Police issued summonses to a Campbell woman, 31, and a Youngstown man, 34, after a taxi driver said they failed to pay the fare after getting a ride from Campbell to a Motor Inn Drive motel.

GIRARD

Aug. 24

Theft: An East Broadway Avenue man noticed $120 missing from his wallet that was in his truck.

Theft: An East Kline Street couple discovered their car had been entered. Stolen was a compact-disc case with 15 to 20 CDs, a gold necklace and two MP3 players.

Theft: A neighbor reported seeing someone enter a North Avenue man’s vehicle and remove a tackle box.

Recovered property: Police found in a park near U.S. Route 422 a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera with its steering column damaged. The vehicle had been stolen in Boardman.

Theft: A Crumlin Avenue man reported a checkbook and $30 stolen from his car.

Theft: An East Kline Street man discovered a pair of his wife’s sunglasses and a global positioning system had been removed from his vehicle.

Theft: An East Howard Street man’s truck had been entered, and a computer and his wallet stolen.

Aug. 25

Recovered property: While investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Stull Avenue, officers discovered the 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera had been stolen from Youngstown State University.

Breaking and entering: A man realized someone had entered a residence in the 500 block of Washington Avenue via a side door before stealing wiring, an air-conditioning unit and aluminum siding.

Theft: A Stambaugh Avenue man returned to his home to discover an assault rifle, 300 rounds of ammunition and $400 missing.

Theft: A woman’s $100 cell phone was stolen as she shopped at a North State Street store.

Vehicle theft: An employee with a Church Hill Road business reported the theft of her 1996 Oldsmobile van.

Theft: An East Wilson Avenue man reported his son’s $140 bicycle stolen from their front yard.
