Weapon revealed in fatal shooting of Columbiana woman


ELKRUN — The Columbiana County prosecutor said at least two shots were fired from a .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle in the shooting death of Sherry L. Ieropoli.

The investigation into the fatal shooting continues, Prosecutor Robert Herron said today.

Ieropoli, 47, was pronounced dead about 7:42 p.m. Sunday at her home at 10984 state Route 45 near Lisbon.

Her husband, Nicholas, whose age was not available, and her son, Jesse, 17, were in the house.

Herron said he could not release more information because of the ongoing investigation.
