Notebook: Scrappers vs. Muckdogs

Tribute Night: The Scrappers celebrated Negro League Tribute night Tuesday. The team wore various uniforms of the Negro League teams including the New York Black Yankees, Chicago American Giants, Baltimore Black Sox, Pittsburgh Crawfords, Brooklyn Royal Giants, Cleveland Buckeyes and the Homestead Grays.

Streaking: Isaias Velasquez’s 17-game hitting streak earlier this year is still the tops in the New York-Penn League this season.

Hot bat: Lonnie Chisenhall took over the team lead when he blasted his 5th home run well over the right center field wall in the 6th inning. Chisenhall also leads the Scrappers with 44 RBI and 19 multi-hit games. The shortstop was the Cleveland Indians number one draft pick in 2008.

Undefeated: The Scrappers were 19-0 this season when they had the lead after the eighth inning and 15-12 when they scored first before Tuesday’s game against Batavia.
