Pompeii leads Poland volleyball

POLAND — Katie Pompeii scored 12 points, with six kills, 10 digs and an ace to lead Poland High’s volleyball team over Beaver Local Monday night.

The scores were 25-21, 25-19, 25-14. Lauren Tadla had eight blocks and five kills for Poland, while Kristi Valentini added seven points, five kills and six digs, and Amanda Molaskey had 25 assists and nine points.

Mathews 25-25-25, Leetonia 19-10-9

VIENNA — Emily Pitzer led the the Mustangs (1-0) with 11 assists, six aces and 20 points . Brittanee Moyer had nine digs. Shantil Dickerson had four blocks. Emma Merril led the Bears (0-3) with six blocks, four kills and three aces. Sam Glasser had eight assists and seven digs. JVS: Mathews 25-10, 25-11.

Warren JFK 25-25-25, Newton Falls 19-22-16

WARREN — Morgan Piacquadio led the Eagles (1-0) with 30 assists and 13 digs. Stephanie Cerbi had 12 kills and 16 points. Bethany Woodly had 10 kills and 13 digs. Kelsey McGregor led the Tigers (0-1) with eight kills. Ashley Walker had 11 digs. Stephanie Blair had 19 assists.

Struthers 23-25-25-25, Chaney 25-19-23-23

STRUTHERS — Kaitlyn Opritva had 14 points, five kills and six blocks to lead the Wildcats (1-0). Lauren Perry added nine points, three kills and 13 digs, while Briana Camerat had 10 points and nine assists. Alyssa Sykes had eight kills, six points, two aces and 15 digs for the Cowboys (0-1). Danielle Brooks had 10 kills, 10 points and four blocks. Lyseette Encarnacion had seven kills, nine points and 11 digs.
