Lake Park to produce, market German extrusion containers
STAFF REPORT
BOARDMAN — Lake Park Tool Machine, 1221 Velma Court, has entered into a technology partnership with Marx Co. of Germany, under which Lake Park will produce the Marx Smart Container used in controlled-temperature extrusion.
Lake Park recently introduced its own line of containers for isothermal or controlled-temperature containers, which under the new agreement will be superseded by the Marx product, said David Cornelius of Lake Park.
Marx will engineer the containers and control systems, build the electric hearing elements and thermal sensors, and provide the needed hardware and software. Lake Park will manufacture the containers and provide a U.S. marketing focus for Marx Smart containers.
Lake Park, founded in 1950, has built or refurbished some 10,000 containers.
The company has 10 employees.
The Marx Smart Container provides uniform temperature during the extrusion process resulting in more consistent quality in the product, a Lake Park spokesman said.
Wolfgang Eckenbach, general manager of Marx, and Oscar Lund, Lake Park president, said the agreement will enhance the abilities of both companies to serve the extrusion industry’s growing need for isothermal extrusion equipment.
