Shooting leaves man in critical condition

YOUNGSTOWN — William R. Vaughn, 51, of the 500 block of Parkcliffe Ave. remains in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a weekend shooting at the Shell Gas Station, 504 E. Midlothian Blvd. He was shot in the left arm and chest.
Police arrived at about 10 p.m. Saturday to find a small pool of blood in the northeast corner of the lot along with a wallet, small bag of marijuana and two spent shell casings. Police also found a purple side mirror on the ground but no body or vehicles.
An officer requested a supervisor and was advised a car with the victim in it was on its way to St. Elizabeth’s.
Police reported that the victim had been shot at by two unidentified males who were in a green Cadillac DeVille with 20-inch chrome rims. One of the assailants fired with a handgun and then both got back into the car and fled north on South Avenue.
Two witnesses in the victim’s car were transported to the police department for more questioning.
