TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO: Terry Martin, right, of Warren, and his son, John, are applauded as John drives a 1903 Packard Model F onto Courthouse Square in Warren on Aug. 23, 1983. The elder Martin and Thomas Fetch of Madison had finished a cross-country trip in Martin’s one-cylinder Packard two days earlier. They re-enacted a historic San Francisco-to-New York journey made by Fetch’s great uncle in 1903 and received a hero’s welcome from local residents and Packard buffs when they brought the car back to Warren.
