Petro 50th jubilee observed by family at country club


• BOARDMAN — The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Petro, 6635 Appleridge Drive, was celebrated with their family during an evening dinner party Aug. 23 at Fonderlac Country Club in Poland.

Hosts for the festivity were their children and their spouses, David and Dianne Petro of Poland, Sharon and Steve Greenberg of Highland Park, Ill., Joann and Brian Hatton of New Middletown, and Jim and Erin Petro of Canfield. Also participating were their 11 grandchildren.

The former Mary Ann Hritz and Mr. Petro were united in marriage Aug. 23, 1958, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Struthers.

Mrs. Petro worked in the accounting department at New York Life Insurance Co. in Youngstown prior to becoming a homemaker.

Mr. Petro served with the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 and was stationed at the Fourth Army Headquarters in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He was employed as an industrial sales engineer at Ohio Edison Co. in Youngstown for 33 years prior to retiring in November 1994. He is a member of the Saxon Club and plays boccie with the club league.

Mr. and Mrs. Petro are members of St. Luke Church, and both enjoy golf.
