Damage to school nets three months in jail

LISBON — An East Palestine man will spend three months in jail for spray-painting part of the high school’s marquee, a school wall, and parts of its synthetic football field.

Joshua B. Kiglics, 19, of North Market St., East Palestine caused the damage Jan. 9, according to records.

John Gamble, an assistant Columbiana County prosecutor, said Friday that Kiglics will be responsible for any unpaid damages.

East Palestine Superintendent Tom Inchak said the district and the district’s insurance company had already settled the claim. He wasn’t sure if the policy had any deductible.

The insurance company could try to collect its costs from Kilgics, Inchak said.

Court records said the damage totaled $34,815. The cost of the repairs was high because portions of the football field had to be replaced, the superintendent added.
