Police arrest two men in shooting death

YOUNGSTOWN — Police used warrants to arrest two men wanted for the shooting death of Sirtan Alli.

D’Von M. Walls and Robert Floyd Jr., both 18 and both of Youngstown, were taken into police custody about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. They are both charged with aggravated murder.

Alli, 19, of McGuffey Road, was found with a gunshot wound to the back of his head Wednesday afternoon near his East Side home. Alli was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center about 2:15 p.m. and died Wednesday night.

Alli’s homicide is the second in seven days.

Jajuan Robbins, 20, of Pasadena Avenue, was found with his throat cut inside 2803 Cain St. on the South Side at 11:50 a.m. Aug. 13. A friend notified police.

The fatal shooting brought the city’s homicide count to 20 for the year.

At this time in 2007, there were 23 homicides in Youngstown, according to Vindicator files.
