Come As You Are events set at Rising Star

YOUNGSTOWN — Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave, will hold its annual Come As You Are Day this weekend.

A community fun fest is planned from noon to 6 p.m. today with rides, water slides, games, entertainment and food.

A service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday will feature John Lopez of the Bronx, N.Y., as speaker.

After the service, there will be a picnic lunch, rib burn-off contest, line dancing and Bible Bowl Trivia contest. The events, which are free, encourage nontraditional church attire.
