A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty and Hubbard:

LIBERTY

Aug. 16

Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Youngstown man accused of failing to appear in court on a probation-violation charge.

Bad check: While investigating two suspicious people in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue, officers arrested a Warren woman, 29, upon learning she was wanted on a warrant from Newton Falls charging her with passing a bad check.

Breaking and entering: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman alleged her 26-year-old son pried a lock off her garage door and loaded $2,825 worth of property into his vehicle.

Domestic violence: A 31-year-old West Liberty Street woman was arrested at her home and charged after her husband alleged she struck him in the face and kicked him in the knee during an argument. The accuser had a large, red mark on his face.

Drugs: Police arrested a 20-year-old Youngstown man in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive and charged him with a felony count of possession of cocaine. A white powder in his vehicle tested positive for the drug, the report said.

Criminal damaging: Two flags were damaged at a residence in the 1400 block of Tomilu Drive.

Theft: A woman reported her cell phone missing while in the 100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Aug. 17

Domestic violence: Officers picked up a Youngstown man, 26, in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive on a warrant related to a situation earlier this month.

Arrest: A 41-year-old Youngstown woman was taken into custody on a criminal-trespassing warrant after police responded to a dispute in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue.

Arrest: Authorities arrested a 38-year-old Youngstown man at the Mahoning County Jail. He was wanted on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aggravated menacing: A Keefer Road boy alleged a 41-year-old Girard man holding a screwdriver in one hand and part of a chain saw in the other threatened to harm the teen as he got out of his vehicle.

Theft: A $600 bike was stolen from a 14-year-old Youngstown girl in the 500 block of Ventura Drive.

Aug. 18

Misuse of a credit card: A Holly Drive man whose debit card had been stolen discovered his account was overdrawn.

Burglary: A Scott Lane woman reported about 30 DVDs stolen after someone entered her trailer via a rear window.

Aug. 19

Weapons: A Youngstown man, 42, was arrested at a Belmont Avenue restaurant after witnesses told police he showed two people a knife, a Taser and a pair of handcuffs. He was charged with carrying concealed weapons when, authorities said, they found a folding knife, a stun gun and handcuffs.

HUBBARD

Aug. 16

Breaking and entering: A woman returned to her residence in the 300 block of South Main Street to discover a break-in.

Assault: A Chestnut Ridge Drive woman reported another woman pushed and threatened the accuser.

Theft: An East Liberty Street man reported his four-wheel vehicle stolen.

Attempted theft: A Saul Drive man noticed someone had tried to steal gasoline from his two cars.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Antenucci’s Restaurant, 245 W. Liberty St., and tampered with a vending machine.

Aug. 17

Theft: A man in the 700 block of Taylor Street told police someone broke into his car and removed property.

Theft: Two employees with a North Main Street business reported items stolen from their vehicles. One discovered a stereo had been taken; the other noticed a bank card missing.

Aug. 18

Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a woman after her husband, of Charles Street, alleged she slapped him five times.

Theft: Lawn furniture was stolen from a front yard in the 500 block of Caroline Avenue.

Breaking and entering: A worker with Hubbard Coal Supply Inc., 828 N. Main St., reported a break-in.
