Cruze is first of a new GM family

Rick Wagoner, General Motors chairman and chief executive officer, says GM is proceeding with major investments, such as the Cruze at Lordstown, the first of a new family of company Chevrolets.

It’s expected to deliver segment-leading fuel economy when introduced, he said.

The world debut was to be at the Paris Motor Show in October. But the veil was lifted at the Lordstown plant today.

The shiny silver car was greeted with applause by local government representatives and labor union leaders on hand for today’s announcement at the Lordstown complex.
