Aug. 14
Arrest: Police, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, took a 33-year-old Struthers man into custody at his home on a charge of tampering with a coin machine, a fifth-degree felony. Last month, a machine was broken into at a Country Club Avenue business, though no money was stolen, the report showed.
Arrest: Officers responded to the Southern Park Mall in reference to an intoxicated person yelling at shoppers and charged a 53-year-old Boardman man with disorderly conduct.
Burglary: Someone kicked in a rear door and ransacked a residence in the 7500 block of Glenwood Avenue before stealing an $840 laptop computer and jewelry.
Theft: A drill was taken from a car at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Someone removed a flag from the front porch of a home in the 7400 block of Westview Drive.
Burglary: The owner of a vacant residence in the 300 block of Indianola Road discovered copper pipes missing from the basement, resulting in an estimated $4,000 loss.
Theft: A man discovered several books of checks missing from his Creskin Lane home.

Arrests: After responding to a report of a vehicle that fled the scene of an accident on Boardman-Poland Road, authorities charged a Lowellville woman, 20; a Boardman man, 21; and a Poland woman, 27, with obstructing official business. The three gave inconsistent or false statements, police said.
Misuse of a credit card: Police took custody of a 33-year-old Warren woman facing a felony count of misuse of a credit card. She was accused of using a business credit card to buy $832 worth of items for herself at a South Avenue store.
Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 38, was arrested at his residence after his former wife alleged he choked her and tossed her onto a vehicle, causing the woman to fall and strike her head, during an argument about their son. The accuser sought treatment for a possible neck injury.
Criminal damaging: A Rittman, Ohio, man discovered someone had used a key to damage his car’s finish at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft by deception: A worker for the Youngstown Hearing Speech Center, 6614 Southern Blvd., told police that someone posing as a representative for the business opened a wireless phone account to obtain cellular service.
Theft: A 71-year-old Youngstown woman was charged after a $65 bottle of perfume was stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Burglary: Roughly $4,000 worth of copper plumbing was taken from the basement of a residence in the 4200 block of Chester Drive.
Criminal damaging: A Poland man’s passenger-side door lock sustained $155 worth of damage in the 6500 block of Market Street.

Criminal damaging: A man in the 700 block of Oakridge Drive reported damage to his light post.
Burglary: A Walnut Street couple discovered money and several pieces of jewelry missing from their bedroom.
Criminal damaging: A woman told authorities someone used a baseball bat to destroy a lamp post at her residence in the 6900 block of Glendale Avenue.
Auto theft: A Struthers woman came out of the Southern Park Mall to discover her 1993 Buick Century had been stolen.
Theft: A man in the 200 block of Griswold Drive reported $500 worth of DVDs and compact discs missing from his car.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 45, was accused in the theft of one package each of crab legs and shrimp from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive. He also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Arrest: Officers responded to a possible fight on Mathews Road and took into custody a Boardman man, 21, on a disorderly-conduct charge. The man became verbally abusive and refused to calm down, the report said.
Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Market Street led to the arrests of a Youngstown woman, 33, and a 34-year-old Niles woman on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after a suspected marijuana pipe and suspected crack pipe were found. The women faced additional charges of obstructing official business and operating a vehicle impaired; one also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Burglary: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy surrendered to police working at an OVI checkpoint in Boardman. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with burglary.
Arrests: A 23-year-old Poland man and a Youngstown woman, 31, were charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing official business after authorities responded to a disturbance at a Tiffany Boulevard business. The two fought with each other, became hostile toward police and refused to identify themselves, the report said.

Breaking and entering: A woman in the 4200 block of Chester Drive reported her son’s $500 minibike stolen from their garage.
Theft: A Carter Circle man reported the theft of an $800 generator.
Theft: Two women storing property at a Shields Road residence reported a camcorder, a box of clothing and other items stolen.
Breaking and entering: Police noticed a rear bedroom window to a piece of rental property on Stanton Avenue had been pried open.
Theft: A Salem woman at the Southern Park Mall reported her wallet and $300 stolen.
Burglary: A man in the 1100 block of Red Tail Hawk Drive discovered his front door had been kicked open. Stolen were a $15,000 wristwatch and more than $5,000 worth of jewelry.
Theft: A Lemont Avenue woman reported being tricked out of $10.
Theft: A bicycle’s rear taillight was removed in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue.
Theft: An employee of a Southern Park Mall store discovered her $500 cell phone stolen.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop near Glenwood Avenue resulted in two 20-year-old Boardman men being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police said, two suspected marijuana pipes and a digital scale with suspected marijuana residue were found.
Theft: An 18-year-old Boardman man faced a theft charge after the vehicle he was in was pulled over on Glenwood Avenue. He was accused of stealing an orange traffic cone.
