YSU team resumes football practice at 3:30 today

YOUNGSTOWN – The Youngstown State University football team is slated to resume practice at 3:30 p.m. today, following the death Monday of Shawn Coin, the team videographer.

Coach Jon Heacock cancelled Monday afternoon’s practice after informing the team of Coin’s death and making local pastors and staff counselors available for anyone who wished to speak with them.

A YSU spokesman said it appeared that Coin, 31, suffered a fatal heart attack while working in his campus video room Monday morning when he died. The Mahoning County coroner’s office reported that it is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
