Police issue warrant for suspect in city’s 20th homicide

YOUNGSTOWN — Police have a warrant out for a suspect in the killing of a South Side man, they said Sunday night.

They would not name the suspect.

Delbert L. Jones, 22, of 814 Indianola Ave. was found dead at 6:34 p.m. Saturday, lying face down in a field between his house and a neighbor’s, police reported.

He had numerous gunshot wounds to his back. He was the city’s 20th homicide of the year.
