Mercer Area School District seeks nominations for Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame

MERCER, Pa. — The Mercer Area School District is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

Since 1999, 32 graduates from Mercer High School classes of 1896, 1923, 1931, 1933, 1939, 1947, 1950, 1955, 1958, 1964, 1967, 1970, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1983, 1985 and 1987 have been inducted.

To be considered for selection, candidates must be graduates of Mercer High School before 1999 who have established a distinguished career in a particular area and made a difference in their field and society overall.

A selection committee made up of former teachers and administrators will review all nominations and select the 2009 class, which will be enshrined in the hall of fame during the annual Academic Awards Dinner in May.
