Warrant issued for South Side murder suspect
STAFF REPORT
YOUNGSTOWN — A murder warrant was issued Friday for James A. Hudson Jr. in the city’s latest homicide.
Hudson, 35, of Youngstown is also charged with abuse of a corpse in the death of Jajuan Robbins, 20, who was found with his throat cut inside a house at 2803 Cain St. on the South Side around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday. Robbins, whose last known address was Pasadena Avenue, was found by a friend.
Capt. Kenneth Centorame, chief of detectives, said Hudson and Robbins had some kind of relationship but the motive isn’t clear cut. He credited long hours devoted to the case by Detective Sgts. Rick Spotleson and John Patton for the warrant.
Centorame said evidence that pointed to Hudson was provided by associates of the victim. The detectives also checked out anonymous tips.
Hudson, convicted of aggravated robbery and escape, is on parole, Centorame said.
The FBI/Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force is featuring Hudson as its fugitive of the week on Sunday in The Vindicator.
