Catholic Television Network of Youngstown gets Telly Award

Catholic Television Network of Youngstown (CTNY) has won a Silver Telly Award for its production of the installation of Most Reverend George V. Murry, S.J., as fifth bishop of Youngstown on March 28, 2007. CTNY staff received the award in June and presented it to Bishop Murry.
CTNY produced the broadcast of the installation ceremony, which was seen live on the Ecumenical Television Channel on various cable stations and rebroadcast several times thereafter. A DVD of the program was produced and offered for sale to the public.
Founded in 1978, the Telly Award is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition. More than 14,000 entries are received each year.
CTNY, in Canfield, is a department of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown that creates and produces television and radio programming. It airs other religious programming on the Ecumenical Television Channel.
