2 killed when semi, pickup truck collide

CENTERVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Two people in a pickup truck are dead after it veered into the path of a tractor-trailer on a highway in northwestern Pennsylvania.

State police say the crash happened early Friday along Route 8 in Centerville, Crawford County, about 90 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police say after the collision, the rig, which was hauling steel beams, sheared a utility phone and hit the corner of a house before rolling onto its side and coming to rest on top of the pickup.

Police say the trailer separated from the cab and sheared another utility pole before stopping.

Authorities did not immediately release the identities of the two killed. Police say the tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries.
