A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
Aug. 9
Vandalism: A Wolosyn Circle woman reported a broken window and other damage to her vehicle.
Theft: A man discovered seven flowers had been removed from a gravesite at Lake Park Cemetery, 1459 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Assault: A Youngstown boy, 16, was arrested at his home on a felony warrant from the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown.
Theft/criminal damaging: A vehicle’s driver’s-side window was broken on Doral Drive, and a woman’s purse was stolen.
Aggravated menacing: A woman staying at a Market Street motel told police about a phone message in which someone threatened to shoot and kill her.
Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 40, was charged after his girlfriend, of Mathews Road, alleged he punched her in the right bicep and spit on her.
Recovered property: Officers found on Glenwood Avenue a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina that had been stolen from a Viroqua, Wis., man who was at the Southern Park Mall.
Drugs/weapon: A 44-year-old Youngstown man who was pulled over on Market Street faced charges of carrying a concealed weapon, being a convicted felon with a firearm and drug abuse (marijuana). A loaded handgun and four grams of suspected marijuana were found, police said.
Burglary: Someone entered a Shields Road residence and removed about $2,500 worth of copper piping.
Identity fraud: A woman told authorities she got a note stating her Boardman aunt’s tax forms could not be filed because another return had already been submitted with the aunt’s Social Security number.
Criminal damaging: A woman’s vehicle in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road sustained damage to its driver’s seat and door area.
Assault: A worker for a South Avenue restaurant reported her former boyfriend tried to punch her in the face, grazing the accuser. She was not injured.
Aug. 10
Domestic violence: A 28-year-old woman was arrested at her Mathews Road residence after her boyfriend alleged she struck him in the head with an iron during an argument. The accuser had a cut near his right eye.
Theft: Nineteen articles of clothing were stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, leading to theft charges against a Boardman girl, 16, and a 20-year-old Austintown woman.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a residence in the 4300 block of Oak Knoll Drive through an unlocked door and removed a $120 bicycle.
Theft: A Garver Drive woman reported the theft of a $300 inflatable water slide.
Breaking and entering: A break-in was reported at Carter Lumber, 615 Boardman-Canfield Road, and $131 worth of property was taken.
Identity theft: An Erskine Avenue man told police he got a letter referring to a $1,589 charge to an account he never had.
Aggravated menacing: A Waseka Lane woman reported receiving a phone call from a man threatening to kill the accuser and her daughter.
Fraud: A Waseka Lane woman found out someone used her daughter’s personal information to try to obtain a credit card.
Theft: A $15 compact disc was stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.
Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown woman discovered two unauthorized purchases totaling $75 with her credit card from two gas stations, one on East Midlothian Boulevard.
Theft: A Struthers woman shopping at the Southern Park Mall reported a debit/credit card stolen from her purse.
Bad check: A man wrote a $30.86 check at a Southern Park Mall store that was returned for insufficient funds.
Drugs: A 29-year-old Dublin, Ohio, man faced charges of drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle impaired after authorities received a report that someone had driven through seven yards near Shields Road. A small bag of suspected marijuana was found, the report said.
Criminal damaging: A Glendale Avenue woman told police someone tossed eggs at her home and set off a smoke bomb near her porch.
Aug. 11
Criminal mischief: Someone dumped chairs, tables, trash cans and other items into a swimming pool at the YMCA, 45 McClurg Road.
Theft: A Youngstown girl, 16, was accused in the theft of clothing and jewelry from Kohl’s.
Arrest: A 30-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody in the 800 block of Midlothian Boulevard while officers responded to a despondent woman, and charged with failure to desist and resisting arrest. He screamed profanities and charged toward where the woman had been, the report showed.
Citation: A 20-year-old Boardman man was cited on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Theft: A Woodlawn Avenue woman reported a prescription and $200 stolen from her car in an unknown location.
Criminal damaging: A vending machine was knocked over and damaged at a Boardman-Poland Road business.
Stolen property: Officers charged a Youngstown man, 21, with receiving stolen property after arresting him in the 5200 block of Market Street. A check revealed a stolen 1995 Pontiac Bonneville; a Youngstown woman said the car had been used without permission.
