Softball game to benefit terminally ill children

NILES — The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will have a Softball Game of Hope to benefit chronically and terminally ill children. The game will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Eastwood Field before the Scrappers game. Tickets are $7 for both games, with $3 going to the Hope Foundation.

Those attending the Scrappers game but who are unable to attend the softball game can assure that the charity is credited by bringing to the game a voucher that is being passed out throughout the community or by mentioning the Softball Game of Hope when buying tickets.

The game will pit community leaders from Mahoning and Trumbull counties against each other. In addition, Christian Brown of Youngstown and Brian Massucci of Warren will represent their respective counties in the Home Run Derby. For more information, go to www.thegameofhope.com or call (330) 728-2669. Donations are being accepted online, in the mail and at the gate.
