Scrappers draw blank at Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. — Matt Hoffman scattered three hits over six innings Wednesday to lead the Oneonta Tigers to a 4-0 shutout of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Mike Gosse had the game’s only RBI while Brandon Douglas had three hits and scored twice for the Tigers (25-28). Keith Stein and Tyler Weber doubled.

For the Scrappers (23-33), Cord Phelps doubled.

The Scrappers complete their three-game series here tonight at 7:05 p.m. Because WNIO-AM 1390 is broadcasting the Steelers-Bills NFL preseason game, tonight’s Scrappers game can only be heard via the team’s website.
