Golfers can scramble to support Care Net

CANFIELD — Kennsington Golf Club, 4171 Westford Drive, will be the setting Sept. 8 for the seventh annual Paul Baringer Golf Classic scheduled by Canfield Community Care Net.

The event will be in the form of a four-man scramble that will get underway with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m.

The cost for the day will be $120 per golfer, and participation will be limited to the first 144 golfers to sign up before Sunday.

Hynes Industries Inc. is the corporate sponsor for the outing, which will begin with registration from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m., and will include breakfast, lunch and dinner and complimentary beverages.

The Chrysler Foundation is again involved in the tournament and is prepared to present a $5 donation to the CCCN for every test drive of a new Chrysler completed at the outing.

Funds dispersed

Proceeds from the golf classic will benefit residents of Canfield who are experiencing difficulties due to a debilitating illness. Since CCCN was established in 2001, it has dispersed more than $200,000 to families in need to help defray the cost of utilities, groceries and prescriptions.

Advertising and hole sponsorships are available.

To register, to obtain more information on making a donation to CCCN or to submit the name of a family in need, call (330) 509-2333.
