Hubbard man killed in motorcycle crash this morning

WEATHERSFIELD – A 34-year-old man was killed early this morning after losing control of his motorcycle on West Liberty Street.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the cyclist as David J. Jones, of Hubbard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The patrol said Jones was northbound on West Liberty, just north of Salt Springs Road, when he lost control shortly before 1:30 a.m. The 2004 Yamaha went off the left side of the roadway, striking a guardrail and a utility pole. Jones was thrown from the cycle.

Jones was not wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
