Date announced for Phifer-Cooks summer wedding

• Plans for the upcoming marriage of Jonai Phifer and Andrew Clark Cooks II, both of 30 Lakewood Circle, Youngstown, are being announced.

The couple will exchange nuptial vows during a 3 p.m. ceremony that will take place Aug. 30 at Rising Star Baptist Church, Youngstown. Their reception will be by invitation at the Byzantine Center at the Grove.

Parents of the bride-elect are Gary and LeTanya Brown of Youngstown. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a master's degree in social work and is a caseworker with Mahoning County Children Services in Youngstown.

The future groom, a son of the Rev. Andrew and Barbara Cooks of Canfield, is studying business management at YSU and is employed at General Motors Corp. in Lordstown.
