Arson destroys vacant East Side house

YOUNGSTOWN — For safety reasons, the vacant two-story house at 323 Lansing Ave. on the East Side was allowed to burn down at 4 a.m. today, the fire department said. Firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames when they arrived and determined the fire had been intentionally set. Damage was set at $20,000, a total loss.
