Antique-tractor parade to open annual show
WARREN — The Antique Tractor Club of Trumbull County will hold its 14th annual antique-tractor show this weekend at the Ali Baba Grotto Showgrounds, Perkins-Jones Road. Hours are 8 a.m. until dark Saturday and Sunday.
To kick off the show, Charlie Plott, owner of Charlanne Farms in Southington, will hold a tractor and equipment convoy at 11 a.m. Thursday. About 40 tractors owned by Plott, most from the 1930-40 era, will travel 10 miles to the showgrounds, led by the Southington Fire Department’s original firetruck, a 1948 Dodge. The slow-moving parade will take a little over an hour.
The procession will leave Charlanne Farms and travel down U.S. 422 toward Warren. It will turn left on North Leavitt Road, then right on North River Road to Perkins-Jones Road.
In addition to tractors, the antique-tractor show will include other farm-related items, “hit and miss” engines, antique cars and a flea market. Other events will include a Chinese auction, tractor rodeo, demonstrations, parades and kiddie tractor pulls.
Admission is $3 (free for children under 12).
