Arts/Crafts shows
• Briarfield at The Ridge, 3379 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will have a craft show and white elephant sale from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 and 24. Proceeds will support resident activities programs. Admission is free. Entertainment and refreshments will be available.
SALES
• The Springfield Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will have Springfield Fall Fest, its third annual craft and yard sale, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Municipal Building, on Main Street in New Middletown.
This will be a family event, featuring a book sale, face painting, a blood drive, crafts and jewelry. Food will be available for sale.

SPECIAL EVENTS
• Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, is sponsoring a Casino Night and Texas Hold ’em Tournament on Sept. 20at the Covelli Center for those 18 or older. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the tournament begins at 5:30. Also featured will be a chuck-a-luck wheel, blackjack, poker, a 50-50 raffle, food and beverages. Early cash buy-ins will be available through Sept. 18. The $50 buy-ins equal $1,300 in chips, and with advance registration will include $200 in extra chips. • Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.
• A calendar of activities to which the public is invited is published Monday. Please submit information to the Society Department by 5 p.m. Thursday.
