Renewal of vows takes place on Cohol anniversary


• GIRARD — Bill and Marlene Cohol, of Girard, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their nuptial vows in the presence of the Rev. D. Gary Schreckengost, family members and friends on Aug. 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, where they were united in marriage on Aug. 9, 1958.

Afterward a reception took place in their honor at Caf 422.

The couple’s family includes William and Kelle Cohol of Niles, Carrie Cohol of Austintown, and Marianne Cohol of Howland, and two grandsons, Justin Allen of Youngstown, and Kyle Allen and his wife, Jessica, of California.

Mrs. Cohol, the former Marlene Babinchak, retired after many years as an office manager with a local trucking company. Before retiring, Mr. Cohol was a salesman of mutual funds and insurance with Prudential Insurance and was an electrical engineer.

The couple, who enjoy gardening and have won numerous awards for their English-style flower gardens, also are interested in music, dancing and traveling.
