M.D. degree awarded
Dr. Craig C. DiTommaso, son of Dr. Pat C. and Charlotte DiTommaso of Liberty, was awarded the doctor of medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he is currently completing his internship.
He will then begin a residency program in physical and rehabilitative medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. DiTommaso is a 2004 honor graduate of Arizona State University, and a 1999 graduate of Liberty High School.
PH.D.
Public administration
Shelly L. Peffer, daughter of William and Janice Peffer of Negley, and a 1985 graduate of East Palestine High School, recently received her Ph.D. in public administration from the Maxine Goodman-Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University.
In addition to her Ph.D., she also has a law degree from Cleveland State University-Cleveland Marshall College of Law, a master’s degree in public administration from Cleveland State, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kent State University.
Peffer has served as a lecturer in public administration at University of Texas in Dallas; as managing editor of Public Administration Review, the leading academic journal in the field; as a law clerk for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland; and as a United States Peace Corps volunteer with the Nigerian Ministry of Health in Niger, West Africa.
She lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Administration at Long Island University in Brooklyn.
